Day 11: Introductions/Conclusions

Lesson objectives:
  • Review the following: Introductions structure, hooks, and  thesis statements.
  • Discuss strategies for conclusions
  • Provide in-class time to work on revisions
Part I: Lecture on Conclusions (20 min)

Part II: Workshop Introductions/Conclusions (25 min) 
We will now work on our Introduction and Conclusions paragraphs. Copy and Past the original paragraphs from your diagnostic into your outline. The introduction should be first, followed by your outline, and then the conclusion paragraph on the end. To begin, analyze the hook in your introduction. Do you have any? What might be an appropriate strategy for your paper. Considering the other important elements to an introduction, work to revise your original paragraph. After 15 minutes, we will move on to conclusion paragraphs. Refer to handout titled, Conclusions for activity.

I will circulate to provide assistance. If you have particular concerns, highlight that area in yellow so that I will read that first.
