Day 21: Google Doc Peer Review

Friday, Oct 11, 2013.

Student Sample Resources:
SAMPLES OF STRONG/WEAK SUMMARIES
SAMPLES OF STRONG/WEAK SYNTHESIS

PURPOSE: This activity should provide you with an opportunity to get feedback on your own writing. Also, it should be a good activity for you to get ideas from other students summaries and synthesis paragraphs.

Directions:

Step #1 Open the link underneath your group and copy and paste two of your paragraphs (one summary paragraph  and one synthesis paragraph) that you would like to receive feedback on.

Step #2: Open and reread the DIRECTIONS for this Assignment as well as the PEER REVIEW FEEDBACK.

Step #3  Using the PEER REVIEW FEEDBACK a guide, add comments via clicking on INSERT and then selecting COMMENT within the Google Form (you will write comments in the paragraph inside of the google doc). You can also provide written feedback by writing in a different colored font. You can also select the strikethrough button to show that you think something should be deleted.

Step #4 You will need to provide feedback on the other drafts within your group. Feel free, however, to provide feedback on other students papers.

Step #5 Update your folders with the revised version of your paragraphs. I will provide feedback on this.

WARNING: Be kind. Ask questions rather than state comments. "What do you mean?" is better than "This doesn't make any sense!" Likewise, provide suggestions if you can. Do not erase other people's feedback or paragraphs. PLEASE. Also, do not copy and paste from each other. That is plagiarism.

Teacher Notes:
I will be reading the documents to see that students have completed the activity and tried to provide feedback. Please email me if you have any questions or concerns over your paragraphs. The final portfolio of four paragraphs is due next Wednesday.
